This new brand captures the shifting perspectives of art itself and the way we all view it in a different way. Because the National Gallery of Art is surrounded by family-friendly Smithsonian museums, it is often passed by tourists who are interested in more hands-on learning. NGA now wants to cater to these same tourists and prove that art is for everyone to experience, not just art enthusiasts and historians.

One way to ensure that the National Gallery of Art is a personalized experience that anyone can enjoy from beginners to art historians, the NGA has a “personal tour guide.” The collection the NGA houses over 2,300 pieces among the 12,260 sq. ft. building. Because this can be overwhelming to a visitor with limited time, this tour guide allows you to see just the highlights or pieces we believe you’ll enjoy the most.

You are able to take a small quiz, figuring your level of art history understand, time periods you may be interested in, any accessibility issues you may have, language barriers, and many other variables to make certain you enjoy the museum to your best ability.

This personal tour guide is available through the internet to print or send to your phone before your visit, through an app on your phone while you are visiting, or for people who may not have access to either of these options you may use the on-site kiosks to print a guide.
